- After Absolom agrees with him, Hushai sends word to David of the thwarted attack (v 14-16)
- The messengers are nearly caught, but they eventually get word to David (v 17-22)
- Ahithophel can’t bear the rejection, and he kills himself (v 23)
- Three men bring food for David and his people (v 27-29)
