Bible Reading
Bob Feather October 9th, 2007
In 2005 Trinity International Baptist Church pursued a one year program of daily Bible readings that took us from Genesis through Revelation. Each Sunday and Thursday evening we met to discuss what we had read since the last meeting.
For some, it was the first time to read the Bible from cover to cover. Admittedly, it was an arduous task; and most of us felt overwhelmed by the wealth of information.
So, in 2006, we began a two-year program of daily Bible reading-one year to read the Old Testament and one year for the New Testament. For this series of reading we read the Bible chronologically, reading historical sections along with prophetical sections or poetical sections that would have been delivered at the same point in time. Similarly, we read parallel passages in the Gospels on the same day so that we might see all the details at once; and various Epistles were read when appropriate to our reading of the Book of Acts.
And, as the Lord enables, we are following a three-year, chronological study which began on January 1, 2008. We invite you to join along with us. If you’ve never yet read all of the Bible, this three-year program won’t intimidate you with a mass of reading material each day, and it will encourage you to meditate on the day’s readings.
The online reading schedules have links to an English version of the required daily Bible readings, along with occasional notes to encourage your further meditation.
Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
